Two New Engineers Join LICENSEWARE
We have added two engineers to the team, and between them they cover the two halves of a problem most SAM platforms only solve one side of.
Serban brings over a decade in software and data engineering, having worked at companies including Bolt and Criteo. That is high-volume, low-latency data work at consumer scale.
Andrei brings over a decade of technical SAM consulting, including extensive SAM tool implementation as a forward-deployed engineer for SoftwareONE, Accenture and Anglepoint. That is the licensing side, learned in customer environments rather than from documentation.
Why that combination matters
Software asset management sits awkwardly between two disciplines, and most tools in the category are visibly built by one of them.
Build it with data engineers alone and the pipeline is fast, the model is clean, and the output is an accurate count of what is installed. But an install count is not a licence count. The rules connecting the two are written by vendors, they change without notice, and they rarely follow the logic the data suggests.
Build it with licensing consultants alone and the expertise is real, but it lives in spreadsheets and in people’s heads, one customer at a time.
The distance between what is installed and what is actually owed is where a SAM platform either works or does not. Closing it takes both skill sets, and it takes them working on the same problem rather than handing it back and forth.
Andrei has also spent a decade on the receiving end of SAM tooling, deploying it inside customer environments. That perspective is worth more than any amount of internal opinion about what customers need.
What they will be working on
Both will be focused on accelerating product development and on making sure customers get to a result quickly rather than after a six-month implementation. Andrei’s implementation background feeds directly into the second part, since he has seen exactly where those projects usually stall.
This is part of the team growth following our seed round led by BCR Seed Starter earlier this year.
Welcome to both of them.
We are still hiring across engineering and customer-facing roles. Open positions are on the careers page, and if nothing there fits but you think you should be working with us, get in touch anyway.
